Another special camera that is primarily used in teaching or explaining the pinhole technique to schools and beginner students. Mostly used in combination with black and white negative or direct positive photographic paper it’s a great way to get your interest started in pinhole while still getting really good shots thanks to the large format that the camera boasts. While this camera doesn’t exactly fit in ones pocket is does make up for it in fun and the results it creates.
The 5x7" Large Format needs standard 5x7" film holders to work which are not supplied with the camera, but can be found easily second hand on the web.The camera has a fixed focal length of 97mm and a pretty wide angle of view of 100° which means that it will take some getting used to while framing your first shots. To make this easier we have engraved vertical and horizontal field of view engraving lines as well as two leveling bulbs again vertical and horizontal, the same goes for tripod mounts, one vertical one horizontal.
The 5x7” standard film back is secured to the camera via magnets and wooden film retaining . All large formats are hand painted inside with a black matte acrylic paint and sealed with black flocking material to prevent any light leaks from entering the camera.
